Drumroll Please: I’m Officially Not Obese Anymore!
I still can’t believe I’m writing this, but as of yesterday, I’m officially not obese anymore!
Now, don’t get me wrong—BMI is a pretty flawed system, and I’m still salty about how much importance it gets. But hey, seeing that shift felt like a win, and I wanted to share it here because I’ve gotten so much inspiration from other people’s success stories. Hopefully, my journey so far will do the same for someone else!
Here’s a little about where I started and where I am now:
- Highest Weight: 198 lbs
- Starting Weight on Semaglutide: 185 lbs
- Current Weight: 168 lbs
- Height: 5’3”
- Time on Semaglutide: 7 weeks (currently at 1 mg)
- Average Weekly Loss: A little over 2 pounds
That’s nearly 20 pounds down so far! Honestly, I haven’t taken any progress photos yet because I’m saving that for a bigger reveal when I hit a more dramatic milestone. That said, I can already feel a difference in my day-to-day life.
For starters, my clothes are fitting so much better—some are even getting too big for me! While I don’t always see the changes in the mirror, I feel them in the way I move, the way I wear my favorite outfits, and even in my confidence.
This process hasn’t been perfect, but I remind myself to celebrate the wins, big or small. Semaglutide has been such a game-changer, but it’s also taken patience and a lot of unlearning old habits. Progress might feel slow at times, but it’s so worth it.
